Certificated members --$31.00 is taken out of each paycheck from September 21, 2007 through April 18, 2008.
We are enrolling ESP's this year. Their dues is according to their pay scale.
ESP members who make less than a beginning teacher-$16.13 is taken out of each paycheck from September 21, 2007 through April 18, 2008.
ESP members who make more than a beginning teacher --$19.19 is taken out of each paycheck from September 21, 2007 through April 18, 2008.
Remember, in order to revoke dues deductions and terminate membership, you must follow the procedures as set forth in the SCEA Constitution & Bylaws adopted on January 24, 2000 at its Representative Assembly Meeting. Constitution Article III, Section 2, Active Membership page 3, reads:
Active membership shall be continuous until the member leaves the school system, resigns from the association, fails to pay the membership dues, or fails to comply with all rules and regulations of the association. Those wishing not to be a part of the association must notify the president in writing, between May 1 - June 1 of any school year.
These procedures have been outlined in your SCEA Newsletter. In order to drop membership for the 2008/2009 school year, a letter notifying the president must have been posted between May 1 and June 1, 2008.
